Alison Bower (Brady) qualified as a Beauty therapist in 1993 and as a Colon Hydrotherapist in 2003 with Anne-Lise Miller IPCH , author of Too Young to Grow Old and owner of The Whole Health Centre.  Alison has been registered with ARCH and IPCH for over 20 years. the clinic has has been inspected and passed by ARCH. Alison opened Eclips Hair and Beauty, with her friend  in Commercial Street, Dundee in 1993. This then became Eclips Beauty Salon in Bank Street. Alison then trained in colonic hydrotherapy/ irrigation and opened the Retreat in Hawkhill then Ballumbie ,practising colonics and therapies as well as coordinating The Real Retreat Detox and juicing Stays at Duntrune House.
Alison gained a BSc in Food, Nutrition and Health becoming a Professional Nutritionist in July 2018 and in 2021 became a Master Herbalist with The Wee healing dispensary housed within.  As well as individual advice and treatment Alison runs Seasonal weekend workshops ; Detox & cleansing ; Liver cleanse ; as well as nutritional advice for good colon health. Please read “Detox and cleansing”.

Colon hydrotherapy is a completely natural treatment that is enjoyed by thousands of people every day; from celebrities to ordinary people of all ages. The idea that gut bacteria can affect a person's health is not revolutionary.  Trained Therapists are Professional Therapists & do not make claims about curing digestive problems , however, experience shows us that colonics can provide relief from many symptoms of a wide range of digestive disorders, including IBS, constipation, bloating & wind. Many of our clients find that colonics offer help where modern medicine has failed, especially when symptoms have been dismissed under the catch-all diagnosis of IBS. However , colon hydrotherapy isn't just for digestive problems, and many clients find it works to keep their bowels healthy same as that visiting a gym helps them keep fit.
 Each session is individual to your needs. Please allow around 90 minutes for treatment and consultation.
The following are JUST SUGGESTIONS ONLY… Drinking as much water as you can comfortably is important- do NOT over-compensate by guzzling a gallon of water. Eat healthy and nourishing foods the day of your session unless you are fasting or on a specific Detox Program. Eating a meal two to four hours before your colonic is ideal, but no heavy foods or beverage should be consumed in the two hours before your appointment. You are in the process of taking very good care of yourself so allow for the time and space you need to be in a calm state of mind. Your body responds best to treatment when it is relaxed.

Although colonics are good for most people there are some conditions not suited to treatment: Abdominal hernia; Autonomic dysreflexia; Carcinoma of colon/rectum; children under 16yrs; Colitis; congestive heart disease; Diverticulitis; Fistula; Hirschsprung's Disease; Hypertension above 170/100; Ileus (paralytic); Active Inflammatory bowel disorders-Colitis, Crohns, colitis,& Diverticulitis; Inflamed haemorrhoids; Pregnancy; Rectal bleeding; Radiotherapy of abdominal area; Severe Anaemia; renal insufficiency, Severe persistent diarrhoea.
